Android Things (previously Brillo) is an important component of Google’s Internet of Things (IoT) solution. This presentation will introduce Android Things: what it is, what it can do, and how it integrates with other Google products. The focus of this presentation will be how you can quickly start experimenting with, and developing IoT apps for, Android Things.
Android Things is a version of Android that is adapted for IoT applications. It runs on devices as small (and inexpensive) as the Raspberry Pi 3. Android Things supports many, but not all, Google APIs for Android. Further, it contains extensions that support IoT applications, such a peripheral I/O API; it can even run without a display.
When you leave this presentation, you should have enough information to install Android Things on your Raspberry Pi 3, or other supported device, and start developing apps to monitor and control your Internet of Things devices.
